Statement
My
earliest works that had a certain quality were aquarelles. Layering
colors to reach color. Later on, as a reaction to that, analytic
prints. Several layers of color were printed over each other with a
certain system. Free gestural drawings at the same time.
This slowly revealed that i am interested in two basic principles
above all. Combination and Variation. A limited array, a
demarcation, a system opposed to the open field. A cube by Sol
LeWitt in the forest.
The tape approaches exactly there. I am solely working with two
strips of tape which usually serve as markers in public space, for
instance in front of a danger area. Both tapes consist of two
transparent colors each, aswell as two directions of the hashes.
Approaching colors through a defined system. Maximal reduction of
means to reach the highest complexity possible.
Then the Prints and wallpaintings as a bay/opening. Unintenional
reacting to a predefined raster.
The term Workcomplex.
I consider all of this as painting. That is very important even
though it may be hard to comprehend.
It
is not a collage. It is painting.
